Top 5 Horseback Trail Riding Farms in Florida

By: Leonardo La Rosa

Trying to find the right Horseback trail riding farm is difficult to do, especially if you have never ridden horses before. This ranking shows the best farms in the state of Florida; rankings are based on price, reviews, and services offered. Look through the rankings, and choose your next stop for an adventure!1

  1. Amelia Island Horseback Riding (Fernandina Beach, Florida)

Amelia Island Horseback Riding is one of the most popular riding farms in all of Florida for their wide variety of options, when it comes to riding. Whether you would like to ride during the sunrise/sunset, propose to your loved one, or have private/corporate rides, Amelia Island Horseback Riding is the best place to go. However, while there are many pros to this farm, the two biggest cons are the location and the price. The location of this farm is in beautiful Fernandina Beach, near Jacksonville, Florida, so if you are only visiting South Florida, then this experience would be too far; C Ponies Beach Rides would be a better alternative, in terms of location. In terms of the former, prices vary, but the lowest price goes for $125 for 1 hour of trail riding.

2. C Ponies Beach Horses (St. Petersburg, Florida)

C Ponies Beach Horses is a trail riding experience that allows riders to ride horses on the beach in St. Petersburg/ Tampa, Florida. Whether you want to ride horses on the beach or on a trail in the forests of Florida, C Ponies has it all. However, the only con is the prices. If you click on their name in this list, you will be able to see the prices for each trail ride, but the minimum going price is $140 for 1.5 hours per person. If you are spending a vacation in South Florida, and would like to ride horses on the beach, pay St. Petersburg and this farm a visit.

3. Cactus Jack’s Trail Rides (Ocala, Florida)

Cactus Jack’s Trail Rides is located in the Horse Capitol of the World, Ocala, Florida. While this location is more remote than the other locations, the prices are a little bit more reasonable with prices starting at $80 an hour/person. Overall, Cactus Jack’s is a well-known trail ride farm in the state, and deserves a spot in the top 3.

4. Lazy H Ranch (Kissimmee, Florida)

Lazy H Ranch is one of the more affordable trail riding experiences in this entire list. The prices are reasonable and at what I consider “market price”: $65 1 hour/person & $85 1.5 hours/person. One important thing to not is that they only accept cash, and they are only open weekdays. So, if you want to explore the open fields of Central Florida on horseback, pay this farm a visit.
